Our modern world is awash in cheap "things". Many of these objects are
functional and some are even well designed but many are mere trinkets that
clutter our homes and our lives. There are certain items in my life that I
want to be more than the sum of their machine produced parts. I want
unique objects with a beauty that captures human endeavor, creativity and
craftsmanship. I want them to have a story, a personality and secret
idiosyncrasies that are revealed over time. I want them to be a life-long
conversation between me and their maker. I want these humble things to be
worthy of my use, worthy of my time, and worthy of the value that I long to
give them. I don't need more things; I need things that mean more.
And at Shuck Pottery our mission is to be the maker of those "things".
